If you have been keeping up to date with The Tea Bee you will know that I have recently been up in bonny Scotland with Edinburgh Napier University with some fellow North East bloggers Megan – Thumbelina Lillie, Gianni – The G Edit, Beth – Polished Couture and Amy – Amy Gatenby to sample uni life and see what the city has to offer.

I can honestly say it has a hell of a lot to offer. You can check out the uni here and the city here Edinburgh Napier Experience – Part 1 – The Uni & Edinburgh Napier Experience – Part 2 – The City.

Now for the food glorious food…

Now, I have always wanted to visit Bibi’s Bakery but never had the chance, until now that is.

Check out this macaroon tower.

It was only fair to try these delights so I opted for a coconut. I spied the Nutella and totally wish I had  purchased that one too. Sad macaroon times.

There was sooo many different flavours it really was macaroon heaven.

You can find Bibi’s Bakery at 37 Hanover Street, EH2 2PJ.

On our second evening we were booked into Le Monde which is at 16 George Street on the ‘new side’. We popped in not really knowing what to expect and it was a total treat.

Le Monde is a boutique hotel and really is quite special.

The decor is really grand and feels like stepping into something from an american christmas film with all the twinkly lights and huge candles.

You really have to check out the amazing menu and cocktails here.

I was totally craving Mac and Cheese all week and low and behold there it was right at the top of the menu.

We all chose different dishes and then the photo fun began.

The food here was so good and such a reasonable price too.

If you are from Edinburgh or visiting soon you really gotta check this place out.

You can find La Monde at 16 George Street, EH2 2PF.

Our itinerary up here was jam packed so it was important that we got our fuel and really good fuel at that.

I am pretty sure our Edinburgh Napier guides Racheal and Michelle saved the best till last.

I want to introduce you all to The Killer Restaurant.

This ain’t no standard Indian. Not by a long shot, what with the Chocolate Massallam, the Iron – Bruna and Marshmallow Nan. This place is da bomb.

Pops and picks to start. Yes please.

And here we go. The menu is unreal so we tried to sample as much as we could.

Megan and I shared a lot so we could maximise trying EVERYTHING. We ordered Pilau rice, Chicken Balti, Chicken Massallam and a Garlic and Coriander Nan.

And oh my freaking gosh, this was delish.

The Killer Restaurant tugged on my independent heart strings which made for an even better visit.

They have been running restaurants for well over a decade as a close knit family team, and are well known for their Killer Curry Contest which takes place once a year. All proceeds for this contest goes to a charity very dear to them which is the Children’s Hospice Association Scotland.

Go Team Killer!

We had to quite quickly scoot off and head back to the smoggy land but we got a quick tour of their kitchen which I was super interested in and learn a little about their future plans, The Killer Buffet.

The Killer Restaurant is located at 4-8 Lochrin Buildings, Gilmore Place, EH3 9NB.

You gotta give this one a whirl.

Where are your go-to foodie joints in Edinburgh?

Thank you to all that tweeted and messaged with places for me to visit. We only had a few free hours on this trip so were not able visit them all, but don’t worry Scotty Land I shall be back.

A huge thank you to Racheal, Michelle and Alan for a fantastic trip. It really was the best x

* I was a lucky guest of Edinburgh Napier University for this trip. All views and opinions are 100% my own.
